STORY INTRODUCTION
原名伊丽莎白·沙利文，生于英国。少年时曾随美国舞蹈家伊莎多拉．邓肯的剧团在巴黎表演舞蹈。1927年首影，两年后与查尔斯．劳顿结婚，1934年一起来到好莱坞。她扮演的角色范围很广。曾因《到马厩去》（1949）和《控方证人》（1958）两次获得奥斯卡最佳女配角金像奖提名，并以《控方证人》获取957年最佳女配角金球奖。著有回忆录《查尔斯和我》
