STORY INTRODUCTION
T.S. Spivet是个12岁的奇才，酷爱制图学和科学图解。有一天，史密森尼博物馆打电话给他说：享有盛誉的贝尔德奖授予了他，他也被邀请去做次演讲。不为人知的是，他决定乘运货的火车穿越美国去华盛顿。但那儿没有一个人料想到他只是个小孩儿。带着一个望远镜，4个圆规，和他曾曾祖母留给他的回忆，T.S.开始了他神秘的旅程，这旅程最终将让他明白这个世界是怎么运作的……各种笔记、地图和图纸掺杂在幽默而又无法抵抗的具有想象力的故事叙述之中。
